LIVONIA, Mich. – In the spirit of gift giving this holiday season, RevSpring sponsored a Toys for Tots program that provides brand new toys to children in need. RevSpring employees collected nearly 800 donated toys, which were given to children in the Phoenix; Oaks, PA; and Livonia, Mich. area weeks before Christmas. RevSpring has participated in the toy drive for six years, which originally starting as a yearly tradition at RevSpring’s Livonia office in 2011. The program was eventually adopted across all RevSpring offices. “Toys for Tots is a very meaningful program for the RevSpring family in that it promotes the spirit of giving and helps ensure each child has a present under the Christmas tree,” said Emily Myers, Director, Human Resources. “Remember that excited, joyful feeling as a child opening up presents? It is our hope that every child and parent should have that joyful experience this holiday season.”
Toys for Tots is a program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve, which distributes toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy them gifts for Christmas. The program was founded in 1947 by reservist Major Bill Hendricks. The mission of the program “is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.” To learn more about the toy drive, visit www.toysfortots.org.
